Jimmy is an award-winning director of photography.
The quality of his work is enriched by the multi-diversity of projects he has worked on over the past ten years: from a Canadian drama series, to a documentary series in Qatar; from a short film in Japan with Akira Kurosawa’s nephew as gaffer to a Tunisian feature film. These worldwide experiences have been diverse, exhilarating and rewarding. They led Jimmy to develop his recognized skills as a DOP.
Jimmy believes in the power of images; he devotes himself to every movie and transforms his style and techniques to serve the purpose of each story. From the first image to the last one, Jimmy wants to catch the public’s attention and move every spectator to the heart. Each scene is another new way to create a peculiar and enchanting atmosphere that contributes to the singularity of the movie as a whole.
Recently, colorist Michael Hatzer (The Revenant by Alejandro González Iñárritu, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford by Andrew Dominik) grasped Jimmy’s potential by working with him.
Jimmy’s works are always consciously thought out and studied ahead through preliminary tests, personal researches, and most importantly communication with directors. The directors’ visions constitute Jimmy’s guidelines; he puts his reliability and trustfulness at their service to create the best collaboration all along the project, from pre to post-production.
Besides, Jimmy’s experience in production helps him to have a very concrete way of producing a movie, with a limited impact on the creation process. Hence, the options his suggests always take into account budgets, which makes him very responsible all along the process.
